BALTIMORE – Even after trading away several draft choices, Sky Blue FC still selected four players in the National Women’s Soccer League college draft on Thursday.

The picks were No. 5 Evelyne Viens, No. 11 Kaleigh Riehl, No. 20 Amanda McGlynn and No. 29 Chantelle Swaby.

Sky Blue FC also aquired forward Mallory Pugh from the Washington Spirit in exchange for the fourth, 13th, and 17th overall selections in the draft as well as a first round 2021 draft pick.

Viens, 22, scored 73 goals and recorded 23 assists in 77 appearances at the University of South Florida.

As USF’s record holder for career goals, Viens broke program records in career hat-tricks (four), goals in a season (25), game-winning goals in a season (10), points in a season (53), and shots in a season (113). Viens was also named to the MAC Hermann Watch List for the second consecutive season.

Riehl anchored the Nittany Lions’ backline, playing all 25 games at center back. She is the NCAA all-time leader in minutes played by a position player (8,847) and ranked third all-time with 101 starts in program history.

McGlynn, 21, was a standout goalkeeper at Virginia Tech. She finished her collegiate career with 75 starts, making 297 saves in 7,009 minutes with a 41-23-11 record.

Most recently, she participated in the U.S. U-23 USWNT camp that went to the 2019 Thorns Spring Invitational.
