TINTON, N.J. – Sky Blue FC announced Saturday that it placed defender Erin Simon on the 45-day disabled list.

The decision was a result of increasing discomfort that Simon has endured this preseason on her left foot, which was operated on last season.

Simon is in her third year with Sky Blue FC after earning a contract with the club through the open tryout process in 2016. She missed the last 11 games of the 2017 season after suffering a left foot fracture in a July 1 match against the North Carolina Courage. Simon appeared in seven matches last year after making 18 starts over 19 games during her rookie season.

Sky Blue FC will conclude its preseason schedule when it welcomes St. John’s University into Sportika Sports for a 2 p.m. kickoff Sunday. The match is open to the public. Admission is free. Sportika Sports, which is the presenting sponsor of the 2018 Sky Blue FC preseason, is located at 150 Woodward Road in Manalapan, N.J.

Fans should be aware that parking at Sportika Sports will be limited Sunday. There will be off-site parking at Manalapan-Englishtown Middle School (155 Millhurst Road in Manalapan) with free shuttle service running.
