FARMINGTON, Conn. – The Connecticut Fusion Wednesday signed two University of Bridgeport products to the roster prior to the 2020 United Women’s Soccer season.

Maegen Doyle (Harwich, England) and Marieke Kramer (Megchelen, Netherlands) return to the Fusion after having strong debut seasons in 2019.

Doyle was the team’s leading scorer during in 2019 as she netted nine goals and assisted on three others across seven appearances. Her goals and points (21) totals were good enough to rank in the top-10 across the league. She registered two multi-goal games last summer, including a hat-trick in her club debut against the Rochester Lady Lancers at home on June 24.

Her season-long efforts earned her a nod on the All-UWS East Conference second team, being one of five Fusion players to receive postseason accolades. Doyle wrapped up an impressive three-year stintat the University of Bridgeport last fall as she scored 56 goals across 58 career appearances. Among the many individual accolades that she earned during her time tjere, Doyle was named the 2018 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II national player of the year after helping the Purple Knights to a national championship that season.

Kramer showed off great versatility during her first season with the club last summer as in her eight appearances. She featured as an outside back and as a winger. She started five matches she played in and recorded an assist in the 6-0 home victory over the Worcester Smiles on June 21.

Like Doyle, she was an integral part in Bridgeport’s national championship run in 2018. This past fall, she turned from playing as an outside back to a dangerous attacking option. Kramer scored five goals and assisted on three others in 19 games, which was good enough to earn All-East Coast Conference third team honors.

With the announcement of these additions, the Fusion roster stands at 20 players.
