Caden Clark, who enjoyed a smashing debut for the Red Bulls last season, is ready to move to the Bundesliga after this Major League Soccer season.
The Athletic reported Monday that the 17-year-old Homegrown midfielder will join RB Leipzig after this season.
The transfer cannot happen until Clark turns 18 because he does not have an EU passport, as per FIFA regulations.
Paul Tenorio, Jeff Rueter and Sam Stejskal of The Athletic reported that the Red Bulls were finalizing the deal.
If the transfer goes through, Clark would join another former New York player in Germany, U.S. national team player Tyler Adams. He was told to Leipzig in 2018.
