BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – For the second consecutive season, the Monmouth University men played Binghamton University to a scoreless draw Saturday.

It was the first points earned by the Hawks (0-5-1). The Bearcats moved to 2-4-1.

Monmouth held an 8-2 advantage in shots on goal.

“Tonight was a tough game against a difficult opponent,” Monmouth head coach Robert McCourt said. “I give our guys a lot of credit. It was Binghamton’s homecoming and they had a great crowd. Environments like tonight will help this young team continue to grow.”

Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Sean Murray stopped both shots sent his way, earning his third career shutout,.

Monmouth visits Columbia University Friday before Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play begins.
